Maintenance Technician

Scope/Purpose of the Position
The Maintenance technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the production equipment by using quick in-depth troubleshooting and preventive maintenance while maintaining the highest safety, quality, GMP standards.

Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions

· Properly troubleshoot and repair all equipment installed in the production and packaging areas as well as dry and fresh room storage and freezer

· Make all necessary machinery and equipment adjustments

· Perform all tasks and duties necessary for efficient start-ups, daily operation, change-over and shut-downs

· Participate to the installation of new machinery

· Perform preventative and repair equipment on production equipment, heating and cooling systems, ingredients handling systems and plumbing systems; also, office and plant facilities

· Start machines and equipment to test operation following repair

· Record preventative maintenance tasks and work orders in timely manner

· Complete work orders and respond to maintenance calls on the production floor in timely manner

· Inventory spare parts and report usage; suggest re-order to maintenance manager

· Maintain neat and orderly work area, properly maintain tools

· Performing sanitary welding on equipment and food processing piping

Job Qualification Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent required in Electrical and Mechanical technology or industrial maintenance

· Ability to work a flexible schedule

· Education and/or experience with industrial electricity, automation control and mechanical repairs

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in industrial/mechanical maintenance in a packaging manufacturing environment

· Experience in food processing industry would be a plus

· Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) to look up part location/availability on computer using maintenance software, knowledge in AutoCAD would be a plus

· Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

· Ability to communicate with production operators and other maintenance technicians to be able to explain mechanical processes and root causes

· Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly

· Good problem-solving abilities and result-oriented

· Lead by examples at all times (no safety violations, use proper PPE, show up to work on time..)

· Ability to work in extreme temperatures, and around machinery and chemicals

Available shifts
2nd shift - 2:00pm - 10:00pm
3rd shift - 10:00pm - 6:00am (Sun-Thurs)
4th shift - Friday 10:00 PM - 10:00 AM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM. Option to work an extra day during the week to get to 32 working hours per week.
