what is the Children's Bereavement Center?
The Children's Bereavement Center is an organization that is dedicated to helping children, young adults, and families cope with and adjust to life after the death of a loved one. The CBC offers free support groups with the goal of providing a supportive community of peers and the education and promotion of healthy grief, healing, and growth.Serving the South Florida region, the CBC aims to work with children and families to show that, even with the loss of a loved one, there is hope for and meaning in the future. Their philosophy is built around research and best practices, which led to the development of the CBC's own "Healthful Grieving Model." According to the CBC's website, "groups are open to anyone who has lost a parent, sibling, grandparent, relative, or friend as a result of illness, accident, suicide, or homicide," and that "losses can be recent or in years past."For more information on meeting times and locations, visit their "about us" page here.
