    ingredients:

    • 1 bakerly burger bun
    • 4 caps mushroom your choice of portobello, white, or brown mushrooms
    • 1 slice swiss cheese
    • 1 slice American cheese
    • 1 tablespoon ketchup
    • 2 tablespoon mayonnaise
    • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
    • 1/4 tablespoon hot chilli sauce
    • 1 leaf lettuce
    • 1 slice tomato
    • 2 slices onion
    • Vegetable oil for frying
    • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1 egg beaten
    • 1/2 cup all purpose flour

    instructions:

    1. Line a plate with paper towel and place the mushrooms on top, then cover with another paper towel and microwave for 4 minutes.
    2. While the mushrooms are in the microwave, slice the tomato and onion.
    3. Set the American cheese on top of the swiss cheese and fold each corner to the middle. Place the folded cheese on top of one mushroom cap and then close it with the other mushroom cap.
    4. Take a piece of clear plastic wrap and wrap the mushroom with cheese. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
    5. In a bowl, mix together ketchup, mayonnaise, garlic salt, and hot chili sauce. Place the egg, flour, and breadcrumbs into 3 separate bowls.
    6. Take the filled mushrooms out of the refrigerator and remove the plastic. Next, cover the mushrooms with all-purpose flour and immerse them in the bowl of egg. Remove and cover them in breadcrumbs.
    7. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan until it is 375ºF/190ºC and fry mushrooms for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Once they are finished, remove and place mushrooms on a paper towel.
    8. Spread your desired amount of sauce on the brioche bun. Then assemble the burger using the mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and onion.
    9. Enjoy your veggie burger!
